About the event
Esther Ephraim & Peter le Feber - 'Neshomme'
Esther Ephraim sings pearls from the Yiddish and gypsy repertoire in 'Neshomme', in combination with her own Dutch songs. She is accompanied by Peter le Feber, a passionate pianist, who is also responsible for the original compositions and arrangements. On the flanks they are assisted by two virtuoso violinists, Ro Krauss (viola) and Vera van der Bie (violin).
Loosely translated from Yiddish, 'Neshomme' means soul, feeling and involvement. And that is what you can expect with this performance: To the beautiful melodies and compelling sounds, Esther sings with her warm voice, sometimes honest and raw, then light-footed and teasing, always straight from the heart.
There is a versatile foursome on stage with “Neshomme”:
Esther Ephraim- Singer and actress
Previously in the musical cabaret company Schoon aan de Haak. She takes you along in language and sound.
Peter le Feber- Pianist
All-round musician and teacher will sometimes be able to tell a little more about the musical background of the different songs.
Ro Krauss- Viola player
Self-proclaimed gypsy, known for example from De Wereldband/Släpstick, will always try to seduce you with his passionate pranks.
Vera van der Bie– Violinist
Musical centipede, played in the Radio Philharmonic and Metropole Orkest, among others, gives this intimate company a grand sound.
